Correspondence of Reed Landis with family and friends. Includes correspondence with his father, Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Topics include Reed Landis' service in the first Illinois Cavalry regiment along the Mexican border in 1917; service as a pilot and "ace" with the British Royal Flying Corps' 40 Squadron and the U.S. 25th Aero Squadron during World War I; work in civilian aviation with American Airlines; service as chairman of the American Legion; establishing an advertising business in Chicago, the Reed G. Landis Company; and service with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
